Abstract:Objective To investigate the occurrence of hypertension, and to analyze the correlation of obesity and hypertension in young and middle-aged men. Methods Using convenient sampling method, 2350 young and middle-aged men who underwent physical examination in the Wenling City First People's Hospital from January 2019 to October 2021 were randomly selected for analysis. They were divided into the hypertension group (447 cases) and the non hypertension group (1903 cases) according to the presence or absence of hypertension symptoms. The risk factors of obesity and hypertension in young and middle-aged men were screened, and the correlation between obesity and hypertension in young and middle-aged men was analyzed. Results Univariate analysis showed that there were no significant difference between the two groups in terms of residence, education level and family history of hypertension (P>0.05). There were statistically significant in the data of overweight, obesity and abdominal obesity between the two groups (P<0.05). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis of the prevalence of hypertension in the two groups showed that overweight, obesity and abdominal obesity were independent risk factors for hypertension (P<0.05), and which were highly correlated with patients with hypertension. Overweight (r=0.679), obesity (r=0.656) and abdominal obesity (r=0.673) were positively correlated with hypertension, there were statistical differences (P<0.05). Conclusion Young and middleaged men have a high prevalence of hypertension, so they need to pay attention to their weight status. Obesity and overweight are important risk factors affecting the prevalence of hypertension in young and middle-aged men residents, and intervention should be carried out for high-risk groups according to the characteristics of obesity epidemic.
