Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of continuous nursing based on parental care needs in premature infants with bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD). Methods A total of 50 premature children with BPD and their parents(main caregivers) treated in Zhuhai Maternal and Child Health Hospital from July 2019 to June 2021 were selected as the research objects. They were divided into control group and experimental group according to random number table method, with 25 cases in each group. The control group was given routine nursing, and the experimental group implemented continuous nursing based on parental care needs on the basis of the control group. The disease cognition level, care burden, oxygen therapy time, weight after intervention and rehospitalization rate were compared between the two groups. Results There were no significant differences in disease cognition level and care burden score between the two groups before intervention (P>0.05). After the intervention, the disease cognition level of parents in the two groups was higher than that before the intervention, and the care burden was lower than that before the intervention, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). After the intervention, the disease cognition level of parents in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group, and the care burden was lower than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). At the same time, the duration of oxygen therapy in the experimental group was shorter than that in the control group, the rehospitalization rate was lower than that in the control group, and the weight after intervention was higher than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Continuous nursing based on parental care needs can improve the disease cognition level of parents of premature infants with BPD, reduce the care burden, promote the growth and development of children, shorten the time of oxygen therapy and reduce the rate of rehospitalization.
