Abstract：Objective To explore the suicidal risk and influencing factors of long-term peritoneal dialysis patients.Methods The clinical data of 98 peritoneal dialysis patients with end-stage renal disease treated in the Department of Nephrology, Jiading District Central Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University of Medicine & Health Science from January 2018 to January 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. The Chinese version of Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI)and concise Mini-International Neuropsychiatric Interview (M.I.N.I.) were used for questionnaire survey and relevant scores were calculated. According to the results of the questionnaire, they were divided into high risk group (34 cases)and low risk group (64 cases). The related indexes of the two groups were compared. Multivariate logistic regression and Cox regression were used to analyze the influencing factors of suicide risk in patients with peritoneal dialysis. Results Univariate analysis showed that there were significant differences in dialysis time peritoneal dialysis fluid retention overnight rate, sleep efficacy score and sleep disorder score between the two groups (P<0.05).Multivariate logistic regression showed that dialysis duration (OR=1.019, 95%CI=1.002-1.036, P=0.033) and sleep efficacy (OR=2.498, 95%CI=1.194-5.228, P=0.015) were independent risk factors for high suicidal tendency after adjusting for related factors.COX regression revealed that the cumulative risk of suicide would increase as dialysis duration gets longer and sleep efficacy scores get higher (P=0.035). Conclusion The risk of suicide is comparatively high in patients with peritoneal dialysis. Patients with higher scores in sleep efficacy and longer dialysis duration are more likely to commit suicide.
