Research progress of protective mechanism and application of Magnesium Sulfate on perinatal nervous system

In recent years, the incidence of neonatal brain injury remains high, and major research institutions are actively exploring neuroprotective agents.Magnesium Sulfate, as a non enzymatic antioxidant, has been proved to prevent cerebral palsy before delivery, and Magnesium Sulfate has been included in the neuroprotective guidelines for preterm infants in obstetrics.Magnesium Sulfate has the protective effects of anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and inhibition of apoptosis.Recently, the protective effect of Magnesium Sulfate on the nervous system has been widely concerned at home and abroad, and has become a hot spot in the study of the effect of Magnesium Sulfate.However, there are relatively few studies on Magnesium Sulfate in postpartum.At present, there is no unified conclusion whether postpartum use of Magnesium Sulfate has the same protective effect on nervous system.This paper mainly discusses the protective mechanism of Magnesium Sulfate on neonatal nervous system, reviews the mechanism of action of Magnesium Sulfate,the research of prenatal and postpartum Magnesium Sulfate, and the dosage of Magnesium Sulfate for perinatal newborns, in order to provide reference for clinical and scientific researchers in the research of nervous system protection of perinatal newborns.
