Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of Metronidazole Gel combined with Doxycycline in the treatment of rosacea and its influence on the patients′ symptom scores.Methods A total of 91 patients with rosacea who were admitted to Changzhou Center for Disease Control and Prevention from January to July 2020 were selected as subjects and divided into a control group (n=45) and an observation group (n=46) by random number table method.The patients in the control group were treated with Doxycycline,and the patients in the observation group were treated with Metronidazole Gel combined with Doxycycline.The clinical efficacy,skin condition and symptom scores before and after treatment were compared between the two groups.In addition,the adverse drug reactions were compared between the two groups.Results The total effectiveness rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Before treatment,there were no statistical differences in the skin condition and symptoms scores between the two groups (P>0.05).After treatment,the water content of the stratum corneum in the observation group was higher than that of the control group,and the pH value,transepidermal water loss,skin erythema index,pruritus score,papule-pustule score,and erythema score in the observation group were lower than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05).Conclusion Metronidazole Gel combined with Doxycycline is effective in the treatment of patients with rosacea,and it has obvious effect on improving skin condition and clinical symptoms,and will not result in the adverse drug reactions.It has promotion value.
