Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of vitamin D on fertility indexes in women with polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS).Methods A total of 270 infertile women with 25 hydroxyvitamin D level less than 20 ng/L admitted to department of gynecology and obstetrics in Heze Municipal Hospital from December 2019 to May 2021 were selected as the research objects. They were divided into vitamin D group and placebo group according to random number table method, with 135 cases in each group. The subjects in vitamin D group were divided into group A (n=75) and group B (n=60)according to whether they had PCOS.The subjects in the placebo group were divided into group C (n=75) and group D(n=60) according to whether they had PCOS.The levels of 25 hydroxyvitamin D,follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH),luteinizing hormone (LH),LH/FSH,anti-mullerian hormone (AMH),dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEAS) and estradiol were compared between the two groups.Menstrual recovery, ovulation and pregnancy were compared between group A and group C.Results The levels of 25 hydroxyvitamin D,FSH and DHEAS in group A were higher than those in group C,and the LH/FSH in group A was lower than that in group C,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in the levels of LH,AMH and estradiol between group A and group C(P>0.05).The level of 25 hydroxyvitamin D in group B was higher than that in group D,the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).There were no significant differences in the levels of FSH,LH,LH/FSH,AMH,estradiol and DHEAS between group B and group D (P>0.05).The menstrual recovery rate and ovulation rate in group A were higher than those in group C,the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).There was no significant difference in pregnancy rate between group A and group C (P>0.05).Conclusion Vitamin D may improve the level of endocrine hormone in women with PCOS,and have beneficial effect on fertility index.
