Abstract:Objective To explore the application of personalized nursing in the perioperative period of elderly patients with inguinal hernia without tension hernia repair. Methods A total of 73 elderly patients with inguinal hernia who were treated in our hospital from April 2017 to August 2019 were selected as the subjects. All patients underwent tension-free hernia repair. They were divided into two groups according to the coin flip method. The reference group (n=36, patients used routine nursing care) and the nursing group (n=37, patients used individualized care). Postoperative recovery and improvement in quality of life between two groups were compared. Results The time of getting out of bed, recovery of gastrointestinal function, and length of stay in the nursing group were shorter than those in the reference group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Before intervention, there was no significant difference in the quality of life scores between the two groups (P>0.05). After intervention, the quality of life scores in the nursing group were higher than that in the reference group, the quality of life score of two groups were higher than before intervention, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Compared with conventional nursing, the clinical advantages of individualized nursing applied to tension-free hernia repair in elderly patients with inguinal hernia are more obvious. It can significantly shorten the recovery time after surgery, discharge as soon as possible, and improve the quality of life of patients. It is recommended for application.
