Application effect of Salmeterol and Fluticasone Powder Inhalant combined with Methoxyphenamine on acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Abstract: Objective To investigate the application effect of Salmeterol and Fluticasone Powder Inhalant combined with Methoxyphenamine on acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).Methods A total of 80 cases with acute exacerbation of COPD admitted to our hospital from February 2018 to February 2020 were selected and divided into two group according to random number table method,40 cases in each group.The control group was given Methoxyphenamine Capsules,the observation group was combined with Salmeterol and Fluticasone Powder Inhalant.Then the changes of ventilator treatment time,total hospitalization time in the two groups were compared.The changes of pulmonary function indexes in the two groups were compared 1 week after treatment.The St.George′s hospital respiratory questionnaire (SGRQ) scores in the two groups were compared.The complications which occurred during the treatment of the two groups were counted.Results The treatment time and total hospitalization time in the observation group were shorter than those in control group (P<0.05),1 week after intervention,the forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) and FEV1/forced vital capacity (FVC) levels in the lung function indexes in the observation group were higher than those of the control group (P<0.05),1 week after treatment,the SGRQ score in the observation group was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05),the SGRQ score in the observation group was higher than that before treatment (P<0.05).The total incidence of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Salmeterol and Fluticasone Spray for patients with acute exacerbation of COPD can effectively shorten the respiratory support time and hospitalization time of patients,so it can improve lung function and respiratory quality,and it has few complications and high safety.
