Abstract：Objective To observe the application effect of psychological nursing in elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).Methods A total of 46 elderly patients with COPD admitted to the Second People′s Hospital of Pingxiang City Jiangxi Province from August 2019 to January 2020 as research objects,they were divided into reference group (23 cases) and observation group (23 cases) according to the random number table method.The patients in the reference group adopted routine nursing,and the patients in the observation group adopted psychological nursing on the basis of the reference group.The depression score,anxiety score,improvement of lung function and treatment compliance were compared between the two groups.Results The observation group′s forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1),forced vital capacity (FVC) and the ratio of FEV1/FVC were higher than those in the reference group,the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05).After treatment,the observation group′s Zung depression self-rating scale (SDS) and Zung anxiety self-rating scale (SAS) score were lower than those of the reference group,the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05).The treatment total compliance of the observation group was higher than that of the reference group,the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05).Conclusion Psychological nursing is helpful to relieve the negative psychology of elderly patients with COPD and improve lung function,and has good application value.
