Abstract:Objective To analyze the risk factors of extrapulmonary complications in children with Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection. Methods The clinical data of 100 children with Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection who were treated in Pingxiang People′s Hospital,Jiangxi Province from February 2018 to November 2019 were retrospectively analyzed. All the children were assigned into groups according to the presence and absence of extrapulmonary complications, the clinical data of 55 children without extrapulmonary complications were included in control group, and the clinical data of 45 children with extrapulmonary complications were included in observation group. The risk factors for extrapulmonary complications in children with Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection were recorded and analyzed. Results The gender and duration of fever between the two groups were compared, and the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05).The proportion of age <6 years old, course of disease >14 d,start time of antibiotic use>4 d,C-reactive protein (CRP) >10 mg/L,procalcitonin (PCT) >0.25 ng/mL,and pulmonary consolidation shadow in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, with statistical differences (P<0.05).The results of Logistic multivariate analysis showed that age <6 years old, course of disease >14 d,start time of antibiotic use >4 d,CRP >10 mg/L,PCT >0.25 ng/mL,and pulmonary consolidation shadow were the risk factors for extrapulmonary complications in children with Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection (OR>1,P<0.05).Conclusion Younger age, longer course of disease, delayed start time of antibiotic use, elevated CRP,elevated ESR,and occurrence of pulmonary consolidation shadow are the risk factors for extrapulmonary complications in children with Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection.
