Abstract:Objective To analyze the application value of dual-energy spectrum CT in head and neck CT angiography in eliminating artifacts of vascular metal implants. Methods From April 2019 to April 2020,a total of 30 patients with CTA reexamination after head and neck vascular metal implants Yichun People′s Hospital were selected and divided into the control group and the experimental group,15 cases in each group. The control group was given 120 keV conventional CTA images, while the experimental group was reconstructed with 60-100 keV single energy data every 10 keV,and there were 5 groups of single energy images. The hardening artifacts, vascular contrast and image quality were compared between the two groups. Results The artifact index of the experimental group was lower than that of the control group, while the contrast to noise ratio of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).When the the voltage was 70 keV in the experimental group, the artifact index was lower than the voltage was 60 keV and 100 keV,the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).When the the voltage was 80 keV in the experimental group, the artifact index was lower than the voltage was 60 keV,90 keV and 100 keV,the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).When the voltage was 70 and 80 keV in the experimental group, the contrast to noise ratio was higher than other voltage values, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The image quality of CT in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Dual-energy spectrum CT can effectively reduce the artifacts of vascular metal implants in head and neck CT angiography, and the effect of eliminating metal artifacts is the best at 70-80 keV.
