Abstract:Objective To explore the predictive value of electroencephalogram (EEG) changes during sleep on cognitive impairment in patients with Parkinson′s disease. Methods A total of 84 patients with Parkinson′s disease in Jiujiang First People′s Hospital from January 2018 to June 2020 were selected as the research objects, and they were divided into the cognitive impairment group (56 cases) and the non-cognitive impairment group (28 cases) according to whether cognitive dysfunction occurred. Both groups received night sleep monitoring and EEG examination.Polysomnography parameters and the incidence of slow waves were compared between the two groups. Results The sleep latency of the cognitive impairment group was shorter than that of the non-cognitive impairment group, the awake times and the proportion of stage 2 sleep of the cognitive impairment group were higher than those of the non-cognitive impairment group, the awake time and the sleep latency of REM phase (REM phase) of the cognitive impairment group were longer than those of the non cognitive impairment group, the REM sleep proportion and the proportion of stage 1 sleep of the cognitive impairment group were lower than those of the non-cognitive impairment group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups in sleep efficiency, phase 3 sleep ratio and sleep apnea hypopnea index (P>0.05).The incidence of EEG slow wave in cognitive impairment group was 62.50%,which was higher than 21.43% in the non cognitive impairment group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion The incidence of EEG slow wave is high in patients with cognitive impairment of Parkinson′s disease during sleep, and the corresponding parameters of REM and NREM have obvious changes. Therefore, the changes of EEG during sleep may become a new index to predict cognitive dysfunction in Parkinson′s disease.
