Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of airway cluster intervention model on tube indwelling time and the incidence of complications in patients undergoing tracheotomy. Methods This study retrospectively reviewed 80 patients who underwent tracheotomy in the Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Shangrao City from March 2017 to May 2021. The patients were divided into control group and observation group according to different nursing modes, with 40 cases in each group. The control group received traditional airway management and nursing, while the observation group received airway cluster intervention. The recovery, nursing satisfaction score and total incidence of complications during treatment were compared between the two groups. Results The tube indwelling time and hospital stay of observation group were shorter than those of control group, and the Glasgow coma scale (GCS) score of observation group was higher than that of control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The satisfaction scores of basic nursing, critical care, nursing attitude and nursing operation in observation group were higher than those in control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The total incidence of complications in observation group was lower than that in control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Airway cluster intervention model can shorten tube indwelling time, coma duration and hospital stay, and prevent complications in patients undergoing tracheotomy.
