Effect of radionuclide strontium chloride combined with Zoledronic Acid in the treatment of bone metastasis of malignant tumor and its effect on the quality of life of patients

Abstract：Objective To explore the overall benefit of radionuclide strontium chloride (89SrCl2) combined with Zoledronic Acid in the treatment of patients with malignant tumor and bone metastasis. Methods One hundred patients with malignant tumors combined with bone metastases admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Hu′nan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2019 to December 2020 were selected as study subjects and divided into the single group (50 cases) and the combined group (50 cases) according to the random number table method, with intravenous 89SrCl2 in the single group and intravenous 89SrCl2 + Zoledronic Acid in the combined group. The bone pain relief, quality of life and adverse effects after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results The improvement of bone pain in the combined group was better than that in the single group, and the total effective rate of improvement was higher than that in the single group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The Karnofsky performance scale (KPS) score of patients in the combined group was higher than that of the single group at the end of treatment, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). There were no significant differences in various incidences of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion The combination of 89SrCl2 and Zoledronic Acid can alleviate the symptoms of bone pain in patients with malignant tumor and bone metastasis, improve the quality of life of patients, and has high safety, which is worthy of popularization.
