Abstract:Objective To explore and analyze the clinical effect of external application of plaster analgesic ointment in patients with early ankle sprain. Methods A total of 80 patients with early ankle sprain treated in the Second Department of Orthopaedics, Zhongshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Guangdong Province from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2020 were selected as research objects, they were divided into control group and observation group according to random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with oral Celecoxib Capsule for analgesia, the observation group was treated with oral Celecoxib Capsule and external application of plaster analgesic ointment, a self-made agent of Zhongshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The treatment effect, symptom and pain improvement at different time points after treatment were compared between the two groups, and the regression time of ecchymosis and joint swelling were recorded. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The scores of limb tenderness, the degree of skin ecchymosis and the joint dysfunction in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). After 3 d, 1 and 2 weeks of treatment, the visual analogue scale (VAS) scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The regression time of ecchymosis and swelling in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The scores of ankle symptom index (ASI) in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The clinical symptoms of patients with early ankle sprain can be significantly relieved after external application of self-made plaster analgesic ointment.
