Abstract:Objective To observe the application of objective-oriented standard procedure intervention on patients with mental disorders treated by modified electroconvulsive therapy (MECT). Methods A total of 60 patients with mental disorders who underwent MECT in the Third People′s Hospital of Shangrao from August 2019 to August 2021 were selected as the research subjects. They were divided into observation group and control group according to the random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. The control group was given routine nursing intervention, while the observation group adopted objective-oriented standard procedure intervention. The incidence of arrhythmia in the two groups was compared before intervention and after 2 weeks of intervention. The changes in mental status (present state examination [PSE], brief psychiatric rating scale [BPRS]) of the two groups were observed, and the incidence of other adverse reactions within 2 weeks of intervention was compared between the two groups. Results After 2 weeks of intervention, the scores of PSE and BPRS in observation group were lower than those in control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The total incidences of arrhythmia and other adverse reactions in observation group were lower than those in control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Objective-oriented standard procedure intervention can effectively prevent the arrhythmia and other adverse reactions, improve the mental symptoms and cognitive function, and enhance the treatment safety of patients with mental disorders undergoing MECT.
