Abstract:Objective To explore the influence of auricular acupuncture of press-needle on postoperative delirium in elderly patients with hip fracture. Methods A total of 50 elderly patients undergoing hip fracture surgery in Jiangxi Provincial Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine from September to December 2021 were selected as the research subjects, and they were divided into the observation group (n=25) and the control group (n=25) according to the random number table method. The control group was given routine anesthesia induction and maintenance therapy, while the observation group was combined with auricular acupuncture of press-needle on this basis. The incidence of postoperative delirium (Confusion Assessment Method [CAM]) was compared between the two groups. The vital signs (heart rate [HR], mean arterial pressure (MAP)], blood glucose (Glu) and blood lactic acid (Lac) levels of the two groups before operation (T1), 5 minutes after operation (T2), 10 minutes after operation (T3) and after operation (T4) were observed. The dosage of anesthetic drugs (Propofol and Remifentanil) during operation was recorded. Results The incidence of postoperative delirium in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The fluctuation ranges of perioperative HR, MAP, Glu and Lac in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The dosages of Propofol and Remifentanil in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Auricular acupuncture of press-needle can make the vital signs of elderly patients with hip fracture more stable, reduce the dosages of anesthetics, and effectively prevent the incidence of postoperative delirium.
