Abstract：Objective To investigate the application effect of Paliperidone in the treatment of schizophrenia. Methods A total of 81 patients with schizophrenia treated in Beijing Daxing Xinkang Hospital from January 2018 to January 2021 were divided into observation group (n=41) and control group (n=40) according to the random number table method. The control group was treated with risperidone, and the observation group was treated with Palliperidone. The levels of fasting blood glucose (FBG), insulin, C-peptide (CP), triglyceride (TG) and cholesterol (CHOL) were compared between the two groups before treatment, 4 weeks after treatment and 8 weeks after treatment. At the same time, the results of positive and negative symptom rating scale (PANSS) at different time points were compared between the two groups. Results The insulin and CP levels in the observed group at 4 weeks after treatment were lower than those in the control group, and the insulin, CP, CHOL and TG levels in the observed group at 8 weeks after treatment were lower than those in the control group, the differences was statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in PANSS scores between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion Pariperidone treated schizophrenia with comparable efficacy compared to Risperidone, but Pariperidone had less effect on glycolipid metabolism indicators in patients.
