Effects of computer cognitive correction on executive function and alexithymia in patients with schizophrenia

Abstract:Objective To study the effect of computer cognitive correction on executive function and alexithymia in patients with schizophrenia. Methods A total of 120 schizophrenic patients treated in Ganzhou Third People′s Hospital from June 2019 to June 2021 were selected as the study subjects, and they were divided into study group (60 cases)and control group (60 cases) by sortition randomization method. The control group was treated with routine treatment intervention, and the study group was treated with computer cognitive correction. The clinical efficacy, positive and negative symptom scale scores (PANSS), repeatable battery for the assessment of neuropsychological status (RBANS)and Toronto alexithymia scale (TAS-26) were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the study group was higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of PANSS scale in the study group were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of RBANS in the study group were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of TAS-26 in the study group were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Computer cognitive correction has a significant therapeutic effect on schizophrenic patients. It can improve patients′symptoms, improve patients′ executive function and reduce patients′ alexithymia. It has good clinical application value and can be further popularized.
