Abstract: Objective To explore the application effect of evidence-based nursing scheme in the prevention of catheter-related urinary tract infection. Methods A total of 100 patients with indwelling urethral catheter admitted to Huizhou Third People′s Hospital from January 2019 to September 2020 were selected as the study subjects. The patients were divided into control group (n=50) and experimental group (n=50) by random number table method. The control group was treated with conventional nursing program, and the experimental group was treated with evidence-based nursing program. The incidence of infection events, volume of first urination, time of first urination and nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results The incidence of infection in experimental group was 6.00%,which was lower than that in control group (22.00%), and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Nursing satisfaction of experimental group was higher than control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The volume of first urination in experimental group was more than that in control group, and the time of first urination was longer than that in control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion In the nursing of patients with catheter-related urinary tract infection, evidence-based nursing is helpful to reduce the incidence of infection and improve patient satisfaction, which is worthy of further clinical discussion and application.
