Diagnostic value of ultrasound elastography combined with detection of vascular endothelial growth factor, carcinoembryonic antigen and carbohydrate antigen 15-3 in breast cancer

Abstract:Objective To explore the diagnostic value of ultrasound elastography combined with vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),carbohydrate antigen 15-3(CA15-3)and carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA)in breast cancer. Methods A total of 100 breast cancer patients treated in Shenzhen Baoan District Central Hospital of Shenzhen City from January 2020 to August 2021 were randomly selected as the test group, and 100 patients with benign breast nodules who were treated in Shenzhen Baoan District Central Hospital of Shenzhen City during the same period were selected as the control group and 100 healthy patients were selected as the healthy group. All three groups were diagnosed by ultrasound elastography, and VEGF, CEA and CA15-3 were detected. The diagnostic efficacy of ultrasound elastography, VEGF, CEA, CA15-3 and combined detection in breast cancer was analyzed (sensitivity [SEN], specificity [SPE]and accuracy [ACC]). Results Serum VEGF, CEA and CA15-3 levels in experimental group were higher than those in control group and healthy group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). SPE, SEN and ACC of ultrasound elastography, VEGF, CEA and CA15-3 combined detection were higher than those of each single detection. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was plotted with SEN as X-axis and 1-SPE as Y-axis. According to ROC curve, the combined detection of ultrasound elastic imaging, VEGF, CEA and CA15-3 had higher diagnostic efficacy for breast cancer than each single detection. The area under the curve (AUC) was 0.906 (95%CI=0.856-0.956, P<0.05).Conclusion The combined detection of ultrasound elastography, VEGF, CEA and CA15-3 has outstanding clinical value in the diagnosis of breast cancer. It can significantly improve the diagnostic efficiency of breast cancer patients and provide scientific guidance for clinical diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer patients.
