Abstract：Objective To explore the application of joint management mode of narcotics by pharmacists and nurses in the operating room based on the fault tree analysis. Methods Through the field investigation to understood the management mode of narcotics in the operating room, the existing problems in the management of narcotics in the operating room were analyzed by using the fault tree analysis, and a new mode of narcotics management by pharmacists and nurses in the operating room was proposed according to the risks and the problems. In our hospital, nurse management model of narcotic drugs from July 2017 to June 2018 was selected as the old model, the combined narcotics management in the operating room from July 2018 to June 2019 was selected as a new model, the occurrence times of expired,deteriorated, charging errors, prescription registration errors and empty ampoule losses found in the quality control inspection of narcotics in the operating room were statisticed and compared. Results During the new mode, the operating room charges errors, prescription registration and writing errors, and empty ampoules were less than the old model, and the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05). Conclusion The joint management mode of narcotics by pharmacists and nurses can strengthen the supervision of narcotics in the operating rooms, standardize the use of narcotics,and improve the quality of narcotics management.
