Abstract:Objective To investigate the significance of serum interleukin-6 (Interleukin,IL-6) and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hypersensitive C-reactive protein,hs-CRP) in the prognosis of mycoplasma pneumonia. Methods A total of 400 children with mycoplasma pneumonia treated in Jianli Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from December 2019 to December 2020 were selected as the research subjects, and they were divided into severe group and non-severe group according to disease severity, with 200 cases in each group.Another 180 healthy subjects were selected as the control group. The serum IL-6 and hs-CRP levels of the three groups were compared.Children with pneumonia were divided into good prognosis group and poor prognosis group according to their prognosis.Serum IL-6 and hs-CRP levels of children with different prognosis were compared, and the correlation between serum IL-6 and hs-CRP levels and disease severity was compared.Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to analyze the diagnostic efficacy of single and combined IL-6 and hs-CRP for disease prognosis. Results The levels of serum IL-6 and hs-CRP in severe group were higher than those in non-severe group and control group, and the levels of serum IL-6 and hs-CRP in non-severe group were higher than those in control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Serum IL-6 and hs-CRP levels in the poor prognosis group were higher than those in the good prognosis group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Serum IL-6 and hs-CRP levels were positively correlated with the severity of mycoplasma pneumonia (P<0.05).ROC curve results showed that the areas under the curve of serum IL-6 and hs-CRP for diagnosis of mycoplasma pneumonia were 68.6,76.1 and 91.4 respectively, with 95% confidence intervals of 61.0-76.1,69.6-82.7 and 87.3-95.5,respectively.The diagnostic efficiency of serum IL-6 and hs-CRP combined detection was higher than that of single detection. Conclusion Serum IL-6 and hs-CRP are involved in the occurrence and development of mycoplasma pneumonia. The higher the level of serum IL-6 and hs-CRP is,the more serious the disease is.The combined detection of the two is helpful to determine the severity of mycoplasma pneumonia and improve the prognostic value.
