Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical effect of acupuncture combined with fastigial nucleus stimulation (FNS)in patients with vascular cognitive impairment (VCI). Methods A total of 92 patients with VCI treated in our hospital during January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2019 were selected as the study subjects, and divided into observation group(30 cases, given acupuncture combined with FNS treatment), control group A (31 cases, given acupuncture treatment)and control group B(31 cases, given FNS treatment)according to the random number table method. The Montreal assessment scale (MoCA) and Lovingston assessment scale (LOTCA) were observed and the therapeutic effect was compared. Results The MoCA score and LOTCA score of the three groups were higher than those before treatment, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The MoCA score and LOTCA score of the observation group after treatment were higher than those of the control group A and the control group B, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). There were no statistically significant differences in the MoCA score and LOTCA score between the control group A and the control group B after treatment (P>0.05). The total effective rate in the observation group (80.00%) was higher than that in the control group A (64.52%) and the control group B (61.29%), and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no difference in total effective rate between control group A and control group B (P>0.05). Conclusion Acupuncture, FNS and acupuncture combined with FNS can improve cognitive function in patients with VCI, while acupuncture combined with FNS is more effective and worthy of clinical application
