Abstract:Objective To investigate the expression level and diagnostic value of squamous cell carcinoma antigen(SCC) and interleukin-38 (IL-38) in peripheral blood of patients with cervical cancer. Methods A total of 52 cases of cervical cancer patients admitted to Gaozhou People′s Hospital in February 2019 to May 2021 were selected as the study group, 50 patients with uterine intraepithelial neoplasia admitted to Gaozhou People′s Hospital in the same period were selected as the neoplastic group, and 50 normal healthy women examined in Gaozhou People′s Hospital in the same period were selected as the control group. The expression levels of SCC and IL-38 in the three groups were detected and compared on admission. The expression levels of IL-38 and SCC in patients with different pathological factors were compared. After treatment, IL-38 and SCC of patients in the study group were detected and compared with the results on admission. Finally, the diagnostic efficacy of each index was evaluated by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. Results The expression levels of IL-38 and SCC in the study group were higher than those in the neoplastic group and control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The two indexes in the neoplastic group were also higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, IL-38 and SCC expression levels of the study group were lower than those before treatment, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). IL-38, SCC expression levels of Ⅲ/Ⅳstage were higher than those of theⅠ/Ⅱstage, IL-38 expression level of high degree of differentiation was higher than that of low, medium degree of differentiation, IL-38 expression level of medium degree of differentiation was higher than that of low degree of differentiation, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). ROC curve showed that the area under curve (AUC) of serum IL-38 and SCC in the diagnosis of cervical cancer was 0.729 and 0.748, while the AUC of combined diagnosis was 0.826, with a sensitivity of 82.32% and specificity of 76.37%, both higher than single indexes. Conclusion SCC and IL-38 are related to the incidence and progression of cervical cancer. The combination of SCC and IL-38 as diagnostic indicators can improve the accuracy of cervical cancer diagnosis, which has great clinical guiding significance and diagnostic value for the disease, and is worthy of popularization and application.
