Analysis of psychological elasticity level and its correlation with quality of life and psychological state in patients with inflammatory bowel disease

Abstract:Objective To investigate the level of mental resilience, quality of life and psychological status of patients with inflammatory bowel disease and analyze their correlation. Methods A total of 200 patients with inflammatory bowel disease treated in the First Affiliated Hospital of University of South China, the Second Affiliated Hospital of University of South China and Nanhua Hospital of University of South China from January to November 2021 were selected as the study subjects by convenience sampling method. General data questionnaire, mental resilience scale, anxiety selfrating scale, depression self-rating scale, inflammatory bowel disease quality of life questionnaire were used to investigate. The factors affecting resilience and their correlation with quality of life, anxiety and depression were analyzed.Results The scores of resiliency behavior, quality of life, anxiety and depression in inflammatory bowel disease patients were (84.11±30.002), (120.9±18.997), (49.825±8.58) and (47.44±6.92) points. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that in demographic data, gender, working status, living style, complications, educational level, family monthly income, medical expense payment method and family relationship were independent factors that affected mental resilience score (P<0.05). Resilience was positively correlated with quality of life (r=0.769), and negatively correlated with anxiety (r=-0.527) and depression (r=-0.390) (P<0.05). Conclusion Patients with inflammatory bowel disease have a low level of mental resilience, a low quality of life, and a high incidence of anxiety and depression. Mental resilience is related to quality of life, anxiety and depression. When medical staff in the clinical intervention, but based on the general situation to develop personalized clinical treatment and nursing measures, through targeted psychological intervention, improve the level of patients psychological elasticity, to further understand its impact on patients′ quality of life, anxiety and depression, and improve patient quality of life, ease the anxiety and depression.
