Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of humanistic care as a nursing intervention in patients undergoing laryngeal cancer surgery. Methods A total of 94 patients with laryngeal cancer were admitted to our hospital from November 2015 to November 2019 were selected as the research subjects. They were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table,47 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing, while the observation group received humanistic care. The scores of exercise of self-care agency (ESCA) scale, mental state including self-rating anxiety scale (SAS),self-rating depression scale (SDS),and core quality of life(QLQ-C30) scale were compared between the two groups before intervention and 7 days after intervention. Results There were no statistically significant differences in ESCA score,SAS score,SDS score,or QLQ-C30 score between the two groups before intervention (P>0.05).In the observation group, the scores of ESCA self-care concept, health knowledge,self-care responsibility, and self-care ability after the intervention all higher than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significance (P<0.05).The SAS and SDS scores of the observation group after intervention were lower than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significance (P<0.05).The scores of QLQC30 emotional function, physical function, cognitive ability, social function, family role function in the observation group after intervention were all higher than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significance(P<0.05).Conclusion Humanistic care as a nursing intervention can enhance the self-care ability of patients undergoing laryngeal cancer surgery, improve the negative emotions, and ameliorate the QOL.
