Relationship between the nurses' personality traits and job satisfaction in pharmacy intravenous admixture service

Abstract:Objective To study the relationship between the nurses' personality traits and job satisfaction in pharmacy intravenous admixture service(PIVAS).Methods In this study,150 nurses in the PIVAS were investigated by Eysenck personality and job satisfaction survey.Results The job satisfaction of nurses in the PIVAS was basic satisfaction.There was significant difference in job satisfaction among nurses with different nursing age,marriage,education,professional title and income(P<0.01).There was a negative correlation between psychoticism and praise and recognition(r=-0.27),sense of achievement(r=-0.28),salary and subsidy(r=-0.18),occupational characteristics(r=-0.21),management and hospital policy(r=-0.18),interpersonal relationship(r=-0.31)and the balance between family and hospital(r=-0.19)(P<0.01).There was a positive correlation between concealment and being praised and recognized(r=0.33)and interpersonal relationship(r=0.26)(P<0.01).Conclusion The overall job satisfaction level of nurses in the PIVAS is basic satisfaction,and the satisfaction level is relatively stable.Nursing age,marital status,educational background,professional title,income and other factors have different degrees of influence on the level of job satisfaction of nurses in the PIVAS.The variable dimensions of personality traits have a certain impact on the job satisfaction of nurses in the PIVAS.
