Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of "three steps and seven methods" massage in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis(AIS).Methods A total of 60 AIS patients admitted to the Affiliated Rehabilitation Hospital of Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from March 2020 to March 2021 were selected as the research subjects. They were divided into treatment group and control group by random number table method, with 30 patients in each group. The two groups of patients were treated with basic symptomatic treatment, the treatment group was treated with "three-step and seven-method" massage therapy, and the control group was treated with exercise therapy(referring to Schroth orthopaedic gymnastics),and the intervention cycle was 8 weeks.Cobb angle, scoliosis SRS-22 score questionnaire, lumbar flexion and extension muscle strength and range of motion by Turgumed mechanical test system before and after treatment and clinical efficacy were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment,Cobb angle of the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and Cobb angle of treatment group was lower than that of control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the SRS-22 questionnaire score of the two groups were higher than those before treatment, and the SRS-22 questionnaire score of treatment group was higher than that of control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, muscle strength and activity measured by Turgumed mechanical test system in the two groups were higher than those before treatment, and muscle strength and activity measured by Turgumed mechanical test system in treatment group were higher than those of control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total effective rate in treatment group was higher than that in control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The "three steps and seven methods" massage can effectively improve spinal biomechanics, improve quality of life and promote disease recovery in patients with AIS.
