Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of ankle pump on reducing limb swelling and pain and deep vein thrombosis after varicose vein operation. Methods A total of 80 patients who received high ligation of unilateral limb great saphenous vein in Affiliated Tumor Hospital of Chongqing University from July 2018 to August 2020 were selected retrospectively and divided into control group and experimental group according to different methods of postoperative intervention, with 40 cases in each group. The control group received conventional nursing measures such as ankle pump exercise, and the experimental group used ankle pump auxiliary equipment on the basis of conventional nursing. The comparison of limb swelling index at the third day after surgery, the number of cases of limb pain requiring drug rescue within 72 hours after surgery, and the occurrence of deep vein thrombosis within 7 days after surgery were compared between the two groups. Results The swelling index of the experimental group was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The number of cases requiring rescue of limb pain in the experimental group was less than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). There were 2 cases of deep vein thrombosis in the control group (4.9%), there was no deep vein thrombosis in the experimental group, and there was no significant difference in the incidence of deep vein thrombosis between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion The application of auxiliary devices in patients with varicose veins can increase patients' postoperative compliance, effectively reduce postoperative limb swelling and pain, reduce the incidence of deep vein thrombosis and save social resources.
