Abstract:Objective To explore the preventive effect of using different dressings based on the Branden pressure ulcer risk assessment scale (Branden) score on non-invasive ventilator nasal and facial pressure ulcers. Methods A total of 84 non-invasive ventilator-ventilated patients who were admitted to the First Hospital of Nanchang City in Jiangxi Province from July 2019 to July 2021 were selected as the research subjects. They were divided into observation group and control group by random number table method, with 42 cases in each group. Patients in the control group were given routine pressure ulcer prevention intervention, and patients in the observation group selected different dressings for preventive intervention based on the Branden score. The incidence of nasal and facial pressure ulcers, comfort level, and treatment compliance between the two groups were compared. Results The total incidence of nasal and facial pressure ulcers in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, the comfort level was better than that in the control group, and the total treatment compliance was higher than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The use of different dressings based on the Branden score to intervene in patients treated with non-invasive ventilator can effectively prevent the occurrence of nasal and facial pressure ulcers, and improve the patients′ physical and mental comfort and treatment compliance.
