Abstract:Objective To evaluate the environmental adaptability of a newly developed portable infusion controller. Methods The environmental adaptability data of the new portable infusion controller (the experimental group) and the traditional infusion controller (the control group) from December 2020 to March 2021 in the same researchers and research environment were collected. The environmental adaptability of the two groups in terms of alarm/shutdown indicators was evaluated through in vitro simulation of left-right shaking, and up-down shaking, as well as real-world simulation of walking, going up and down stairs, going out for inspection, going to the bathroom, pre hospital first aid and field transportation. Each environment was observed 100 times. Results When simulating shaking interference in vitro, the shaking degree of left-right shaking of the experimental group was (32.42±4.27)°, which was higher than (15.36±5.58)° of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). When shaking up and down, the pullup of the experimental group was (1.33±0.08) times, which was higher than (1.16±0.05) times in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). In the real simulation experiment, the alarm/shutdown rate of the experimental group in all operation scenarios was lower than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). When simulating the scenes of extremely slow walking, slow walking, going up and down stairs, going out for inspection, going to the bathroom, normal driving of ambulances and transfer of field stretchers, the alarm/shutdown rate of the experimental group were 0%, indicating full adaptation to the environment, while in the control group, different degrees of alarm/shutdown under the above environment reported. Conclusion The new portable infusion controller not only has the advantage of accurate control, but also has better environmental adaptability. It can expand the application range of speed limited infusion and better serve hospitals and patients.
