Objective To explore the application value of cotton gauze masks and non-adhesive foam dressings based on Braden score in the prevention of nasal and facial pressure ulcers on non-invasive ventilator. Methods A total of 82 patients requiring non-invasive ventilator-assisted ventilation who were admitted to the First Hospital of Nanchang in Jiangxi Province from August 2019 to August 2021 were selected as research objects. They were divided into control group and observation group according to the random number table method, with 41 cases in each group. The control group used cotton gauze masks based on the Braden score, and the observation group used non-adhesive foam dressings based on the Braden score. Both groups were evaluated after using non-invasive ventilator masks for 7 d. The risk of nasal and facial pressure ulcers, the occurrence of nasal and facial pressure ulcers and the degree of comfort between the two groups were compared. Results The observation group′s risk of nasal and facial pressure ulcers and the incidence of nasal facial pressure ulcers were lower than those of the control group, and the comfort level was higher than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Compared with cotton gauze masks, non-sticky foam dressings is more effective in preventing nasal and facial pressure ulcers from non-invasive ventilator. It can reduce the risk of nasal and facial pressure ulcers and improve patients′ comfort. It is worthy of clinical application.
