Abstract:Objective To explore the effects of inflammatory cytokines induced by type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) on peri-implant tissues. Methods A total of 32 patients with T2DM undergoing implant implantation and upper all-ceramic crown repair in stomatology department of Pingxiang People′s Hospital were enrolled as observation group between August 2020 and August 2021, while other 32 patients with normal blood glucose during the same period were enrolled as control group. The probing depth (PD), sulcus bleeding index (SBI), volume of peri-implant sulcular fluid(PISF), expression levels of interleukin-1β (IL-1β), interleukin-6 (IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) in PISF of the two groups were statistically analyzed. Results There were no significant differences in PD and SBI between the two groups (P>0.05). After implantation, the PISF in observation group was lower than that in control group, expressions of IL-1β and TNF-α in PISF of observation group were higher than those in control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05), but there was no significant difference in IL-6 between the two groups (P>0.05). PISF was significantly negatively correlated with IL-1β and TNF-α (r=-0.482,-0.436,P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with patients with healthy implant teeth, PISF volume is less, while expressions of IL-1β and TNF-α were higher in T2DM patients.
