Prevention and control measures of outpatient and emergency department of orthopedics in tertiary general hospitals during the Corona Virus Disease 2019 outbreak

Since December 2019, Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) emerged in Wuhan City and Hubei Province, and now has spread to the whole country. As a designated hospital of receiving and treating patients infected with COVID-19 in Shiyan City, Hubei Province, our hospital required all departments to take science-based and targeted measures, and make full efforts in prevention and control. According to the policies and regulations and the latest reports issued by the National Health Commission, the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of COVID-19 and the guidelines on COVID-19 prevention and control issued by the country and our hospital, department of orthopedics developed COVID-19 prevention and control measures in combination with our own experience in clinical prevention and control, which are suitable for outpatient and emergency department of orthopedics of tertiary general hospitals, so as to provide reference for the prevention and control of COVID-19 in various subspecialties of orthopedics and other surgical specialties.
