Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of kangaroo nursing on breastfeeding of neonates separated from mothers. Methods A total of 100 neonates separated from mothers admitted to our hospital from January to December 2019 were selected. They were divided into the control group and the observation group according to random number principle, 50 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing, the observation group was given kangaroo nursing on the basis of routine nursing. The time of first breastfeeding, the duration of first breastfeeding, the success rate of exclusive breastfeeding at 42 days postpartum and the neurobehavior of newborns in the two groups were compared. Results The first breastfeeding time in the observation group was (34.8±0.98) h postpartum, and the first breastfeeding time in the control group was (78.64±1.23) h postpartum. The first breastfeeding time in the observation group was earlier than that of the control group (P<0.05); the first breastfeeding in the observation group continued the time was(15.02±0.43) min, the duration of the first breastfeeding in the control group was (10.56±0.29) min, the duration of the first breastfeeding in the observation group was longer than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The breast feeding rate of observation group was higher than that of control group (P<0.05). The neonatal reflex, active muscle tone, passive muscle tone, and behavioral ability scores of the observation group were higher those that of the control group 30 days after birth, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Taking kangaroo-like nursing measures for neonates separated from mothers can shorten the time of first breastfeeding, extend the duration of first breastfeeding and improve the neonatal neurobehavior.
