Abstract：Objective To explore the effect of self-made U-shaped ice sandbag in patients with head and neck surgery.Methods A total of 50 patients undergoing head and neck surgery in our hospital from July 2018 to December 2019 were selected.They were divided into two groups with 25 cases in each group according to random number table method.The control group used a salt bag to fix the operation site after the operation,and the experimental group used a self-made U-shaped ice sand bag to fix the operation site after the operation.The degree of dysphagia,local tissue swelling,pain,satisfaction,the stability,fitness,comfort and adjustability of salt bag and self-made U-shaped ice sandbag were observed.Results The degree of dysphagia,pain and local tissue swelling in the experimental group was lighter than that in the control group,and the total satisfaction was higher than that in the control group with statistical significances(P＜0.05).The ratios of the experimental group with stability,fit,comfort and adjustability were all higher than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion The application of self-made U-shaped ice sandbag in patients with head and neck surgery obtains a good effect.It can not only reduce the difficulty in swallowing,pain and local tissue swelling,but also improve the stability,fitness,comfort,adjustability and patient′s satisfaction.
