Abstract:Object To explore the effect of SBAR standard communication mode on shift handover of obstetric nurses in grass-roots hospitals. Methods A total of 80 nurses with independent duty qualification in obstetrics of Xinhui District People′s Hospital of Xinhui Region in Jiangmen City from October 2019 to September 2020 were selected as the research objects. They were randomly divided into 40 nurses in the control group and 40 nurses in the study group. The control group adopted routine nursing shift handover, and the study group adopted SBAR standard communication mode shift handover based on the control group. The condition awareness rate, nursing shift defect rate, nurses′ autonomous learning ability, nursing work quality and nursing shift effect were compared between the two groups. Results The awareness rate of nurses in the study group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The defect rate of nursing shift handover was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The autonomous learning ability was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The total scores of nursing work quality and nursing shift change effect were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion The implementation of SBAR standard communication mode in obstetric nursing shift can effectively improve nurses′ condition awareness rate, autonomous learning ability, nursing work quality and shift handover effect, and reduce the defect rate of nursing shift handover. This mode has high clinical application value in obstetrics clinic of grass-roots hospitals.
