Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of Neixiao Luoli Pills combined with western medicine in the treatment of cavitary nontuberculous mycobacterium (NTM) lung disease, and to provide a new therapeutic idea for clinical treatment. Methods Sixty-three patients with cavitary NTM lung disease admitted to Chest Hospital of Jiangxi Province from July 2020 to April 2023 were retrospectively analyzed, and divided into western medicine group (35 cases) and combined group (28 cases) according to treatment regimen. The western medicine group was treated with basic treatment, and the combined group was treated with Neixiao Luoli Pills. The main clinical manifestations and the changes of lesion extent and cavity in chest CT signs were observed in the two groups after intervention for 3 months. Results The treatment effect of cough and hemoptysis in combination group was better than that in western medicine group, and the total effective rate was higher than that in Western medicine group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the treatment effect and total effective rate of chest tightness between the two groups (P>0.05).Among the chest CT signs, the absorption of lung lesions and closure of cavity lesions in the combined group were better than those in the western medicine group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Neixiao Luoli Pills combined with western medicine in the treatment of NTM lung disease can accelerate the remission of clinical symptoms and shorten the course of disease. The results of chest CT provide data support for the curative effect, which is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
