Objective To explore the clinical effect of self-made Gout Fracture Ointment applied externally in the treatment of acute gouty knee osteoarthritis.Methods A total of 90 patients with acute gouty arthritis admitted to Qinzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2022 to August 2023 were selected as the study objects.They were divided into a control group(45 cases)and a study group(45 cases)according to the random number table method.The control group was treated with Vaseline for external application,while the study group was treated with Gout Fracture Ointment for external application.The total effective rate,serum inflammatory factor indicators,pain score,knee joint function score and score of life quality were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of the study group was higher than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05).After treatment,the average levels of serum C-reactive protein and procalcitonin in the study group were lower than those in the control group,the pain score of the study group was lower than that of the control group,while the knee joint function score and quality of life score of the study group were higher than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05).Conclusion For patients with acute gouty arthritis,applying Gout Fracture Ointment externally can reduce joint inflammation in patients,alleviate pain,improve knee joint function,and have a significant therapeutic effect,which is beneficial for improving their quality of life.
