Effect of early comprehensive nursing intervention on ICU syndrome,ICU environmental stress level,and psychological status in elderly patients

Abstract:Objective To study the effects of early comprehensive nursing intervention on elderly patients with intensive care unit (ICU)syndrome,ICU environmental stress level,and psychological state.Methods Sixty elderly ICU patients admitted to Second Affiliated Hospital of Gannan Medical University from January to December 2021 were selected as the research subjects.They were divided into control group(n=30)and study group(n=30)using an odd or even number method.In the control group,patients received routine care,while in the study group,patients received routine care combined with early comprehensive nursing.The incidence of ICU syndrome,the level of ICU environmental stress,and psychological status of the two groups were compared.Results After intervention,the incidence of ICU syndrome and intensive care unit environmental stressor scale (ICUESS)score in the study group were lower than those in the control group,the duration of stay in ICU in the study group was shorter than that in the control group,with statistical differences (P<0.05).After intervention,the scores of positive emotional indicators of profile of mood state in the study group were higher than those in the control group,while the scores of negative emotional indicators were lower than those in the control group,with statistical significances(P<0.05).After intervention,the scores of positive emotional indicators(POMS)in the study group and control group were higher than those before intervention in the corresponding group,while the scores of negative emotional indicators were lower than those before intervention in the corresponding group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The the short-form 36 item health survey questionnaire (SF-36) scores in all dimensions after intervention were higher than those of the control group,with statistically significant differences (P<0.05).Conclusion Early comprehensive nursing can effectively improve patients'psychological state and reduce the occurrence of ICU syndrome.
