Application effect of Phloroglucinol cervical injection combined with Foley urinary catheter in pregnant women who need to induce labor in the third trimester of pregnancy

Abstract：Objective To investigate the application effect of phloroglucinol cervical injection combined with Foley urinary catheter in pregnant women who need to induce labor in the third trimester of pregnancy. Methods From January 2020 to July 2021, 120 pregnant women in the third trimester of pregnancy who were required to induce labor in Pingxiang Maternal and Child Health Hospital were selected as the research objects. According to the random number table method, they were divided into the control group 1 (40 cases), the control group 2 (40 cases) and the observation group (40 cases). The control group 1 patients were treated with Foley catheters, the control group 2 patients were treated with Phloroglucinol, and the observation group patients were treated with the combination of the above two groups. The pregnant women in the three groups were observed for 12 h. The cervical maturity, delivery and labor process time, postpartum hemorrhage and adverse reactions of the three groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of the observation group were higher than those of the control group 1 and the control group 2, and the total incidence of adverse reactions of the observation group were lower than those of the control group 1 and the control group 2, the time of delivery and labor of the observation group were shorter than those of the control group 1 and the control group 2, and the postpartum hemorrhage of the observation group were less than those of the control group 1 and the control group 2, the differences were statistically significant (all P＜0.05). Conclusion Phloroglucinol cervical injection combined with Foley urinary catheter can effectively promote the cervical ripening of pregnant women in the third trimester, shorten the birth process and reduce adverse reactions.
