Abstract:Objective To explore the related factors affecting the loss of apheresis platelet donors and put forward constructive strategies for platelet donor retention. Methods Based on the central Blood bank database management system of Zhaoqing City, 3073 platelet donors from the central blood bank database of Zhaoqing City from January 2014 to December 2018 were selected as subjects for retrospective analysis. The loss rate of apheresis platelet donors was analyzed and the influencing factors of blood loss were analyzed. Results Among 3073 subjects, blood donors were enrolled in a control group of 1935 platelet donors again or repeatedly within 24 months of their first platelet donation,1138 patients who donated only once were included in the observation group, and the loss rate of platelet donors was 37.03%. Univariate analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences in age, gender, self-perceived health status, occupation, education level, cognition level of blood donation, motivation of blood donation and experience of blood donation between the two groups (P<0.05). Multivariate analysis showed that age, cognition level of blood donation, motivation of blood donation and experience of blood donation were the influencing factors for loss of apheresis platelet donors (P<0.05). Conclusion According to the causes of platelet donor loss and related factors, which to formulate platelet donor retention strategies and improve the quality of blood donation service, so as to reduce platelet donor loss and improve the success rate of new recruitment plan.
