Abstract:Objective To analyze the preoperative anxiety state of patients who need to undergo transurethral resection of prostate (TURP) before surgery and its influencing factors, so as to provide a theoretical basis for formulating clinical nursing strategies to alleviate patient′s preoperative anxiety. Methods From September 2019 to November 2020, 210 patients who were diagnosed as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in Deyang People′s Hospital and Chengdu Fifth People′s Hospital and planned to undergo TURP surgery were selected as the research subjects. Before the operation, the S-AI state anxiety subscale was used to measure the psychological indicators, to design a questionnaire about anxietyrelated factors, to collect relevant data and analyze. Results The results of univariate analysis suggested that the S-AI score of TURP patients was (56.01±6.89) points, compared with the domestic norm (50.00 points), and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.001). The results of multivariate analysis suggested that quite familiar with the hospital environment (β=-0.128, odds ratio [OR]=0.769, P<0.001), surgical procedures (β=0.076, OR=0.304, P<0.001), and good family financial status (β=-0.029, OR=0.453, P<0.001) were protective factors for high levels of preoperative anxiety. Fear of pain was an independent risk factor for patients with preoperative anxiety (β=0.116, OR=2.675, P<0.001).Conclusion Patients with TURP have varying degrees of anxiety before surgery. Effective clinical nursing interventions can be established based on common anxiety influencing factors.
