Abstract：Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Maxing Shigan Decoction in the trteatment of chronic cough after respiratory tract infection. Methods A total of 60 patients with chronic cough after respiratory tract infection who were admitted to the Second Section of Department of Respiratory, Tongzhou District of Dongzhimen Hospital from April 2020 to May 2021 were selected as the research objects. They were divided into the control group and the observation group by the random number table method, with 30 patients in each group. The control group was treated with conventional Western medicine treatment, and the observation group was treated with conventional Western medicine treatment + Maxing Shigan Decoction treatment. The total effective rate, disappearance time of symptoms and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 93.33%,which was higher than that of the control group (66.67%), the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The disappearance time of cough in observation group was shorter than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The total incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was 3.33%, lower than 30.00% in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Maxing Shigan Decoction can be used in the treatment of chronic cough after respiratory tract infection, which can promote the disappearance of symptoms and stabilize the internal environment of the body, with high safety.
