Abstract:Objective To study the effect of early rehabilitation training combined with pneumatic therapy and preventing the formation of limb deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in elderly bedridden patients with comprehensive intensive care unit (ICU). Methods A total of 100 long-term bedridden elderly patients admitted to the comprehensive ICU of Yangjiang People′s Hospital in Guangdong Province from July 2019 to February 2021 were selected and divided into a control group (50 cases) and a test group (50 cases) using the random number table method. The control group received early rehabilitation training combined with elastic stockings, and the test group received early rehabilitation training combined with air pressure therapy. The coagulation index, lower limb circumference, ICU hospitalization days, total hospitalization days, neuromuscular dysfunction and the incidence of DVT were compared between the two groups. Results Before the intervention, there were no significant differences between the two groups of activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), prothrombin time (PT), and lower limb circumference (P>0.05). After the intervention, the APTT and PT of the two groups were higher than those of the group before the intervention, and the circumference of the lower limbs was shorter than that of the group before the intervention, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).After the intervention, the APTT and PT of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group, and the circumference of the lower limbs was shorter than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). After the intervention, the number of ICU hospitalizations and total length of stay in the experimental group were less than those of the control group, and the incidence of neuromuscular dysfunction and DVT were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Early rehabilitation training combined with pneumatic treatment can effectively prevent the occurrence of lower limb DVT in elderly patients with long-term bedridden patients, reduce lower limb swelling, reduce the incidence of neurological dysfunction, and promote rehabilitation.
