Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of moderate and severe obstructive sleep apnea on cardiac structure and function in patients with acute coronary syndrome. Methods A total of 220 patients with acute coronary syndrome treated in Beijing Yanqing District Hospital (Peking University Third Hospital Yanqing) from June 2018 to June 2020 were selected as the research objects. According to the results of polysomnography, they were divided into no/mild group (52 cases) and medium/severe group (168 cases). The echocardiographic indexes of the two groups were compared. Results The left ventricular end diastolic diameter, E peak maximum flow rate (E) and ratio of maximal velocity of mitral orifice to maximum velocity of atrial contraction (E/A) in the moderate/severe group were lower than those in the non/mild group, and the ventricular septal thickness, left atrial diameter and A peak maximum flow rate (A) were higher than those in the non/mild group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Moderate and severe obstructive sleep apnea can significantly aggravate cardiac remodeling and affect ventricular diastolic function in patients with acute coronary syndrome.
