Nuclear medicine is a comprehensive clinical discipline that uses radiopharmaceuticals and nuclear medicine imaging equipment to diagnose and treat diseases, mainly reflecting the function and metabolic changes of tissues and organs. At present, multimodal medical imaging has become the mainstream equipment and technology of clinical nuclear medicine. However, the current teaching content and syllabus of clinical nuclear medicine still mainly remain in the traditional teaching mode and lack of integration of multimodal imaging which is not conducive to the cultivation and development of nuclear medicine students. Therefore,it is urgent to reform and explore the current education of nuclear medicine. In order to improve the teaching effect and stimulate students′learning enthusiasm, the authors suggest to establish a perfect picture archiving and communication system(PACS)conducive to teaching practice and rewrite nuclear medicine textbooks/teaching plans based on multimodal imaging. This reformation can lay a solid foundation for the goal of training a new generation of comprehensive nuclear medicine physicians who meet clinical needs and can drive the development of the discipline,so as to provide better homogenous and high-quality medical services for the patients.
