Abstract:Objective To study the relationship between Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in Lianyungang. Methods Clinical data of 8 125 people who had outpatient physical examinations in Lianyungang from January to December 2019 were retrospectively analyzed, 3 238 people with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease were divided into the NAFLD group, and 4887 normal people who underwent physical examinations during the same period were divided into the control group. The Hp infection situation of two groups of people was recorded, the Hp infection rate of two groups was calculated, and the relationship between NAFLD severity and Hp infection was analyzed. Results The total prevalence of NAFLD was 39.9%. The infection rate of Hp in the NAFLD group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no significant difference between the severity of NAFLD and Hp infection in the NAFLD group (P>0.05). Conclusion Hp infection rate of people with NAFLD in Lianyungang is higher than that of normal people, but there is no significant relationship between the severity of NAFLD and Hp infection.
