Objective To investigate the effect of multi-maintenance management intervention based on empowerment theory in patients with decompensated liver cirrhosis. Methods A total of 78 patients with decompensated liver cirrhosis who were admitted in the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University from November 2020 to November 2021 were selected as research objects, and they were divided into the intervention group (n=39) and the control group(n=39) by touching the ball randomly. The control group received routine nursing intervention, while the intervention group received multidimensional nursing intervention based on empowerment theory. The self-care ability, quality of life and the incidence of complications were compared of the two groups. Results After intervention, the self-care ability scale (ESCA) scores of the two groups were higher than those before intervention, and the ESCA score of the intervention group was higher than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). After intervention, the scores of the comprehensive assessment questionnaire for quality of life-74 (GQOL-74) in the two groups were higher than those before intervention, and the scores in the intervention group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The total incidence of complications in the intervention group was lower than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Multi-maintenance nursing based on empowerment theory can improve the self-care ability and quality of life of patients with decompensated cirrhosis, and reduce the incidence of complications.
